(The same manifesto they only provided in easy read format because Elena kicked up a fuss.)

Today I got an Email from my local greens (I don't know how I ended up on their mailing list, but that's another issue). They're hosting a social event for members and potential members. In the upstairs room of a pub.

In my experience "upstairs in a pub" is rarely synonymous with "accessible". In fact, of all the pubs I've been in around the country I've only ever seen one with a lift.

I've Emailed them to ask if there's a lift but I'm not holding my breath.

So much for that manifesto promise...Lisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16714918894319998184noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6584420.post-42940453877252859202011-05-03T13:09:04.577+01:002011-05-03T13:09:04.577+01:00Thanks for this post. I'm so unreliable, that as an individual I won't be worth making special provision for - I might turn up one week and then disappear for a month. It should never be about individuals.

Ditto comments about the disabledfeminists.com. If there was any interest in a new (perhaps significantly smaller) group blog, I'd be game. :-)The Goldfishhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15213378454070776331noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6584420.post-50807823934648980282011-05-01T22:02:22.361+01:002011-05-01T22:02:22.361+01:00WCD, sadly it's all too common, and it just ha...WCD, sadly it's all too common, and it just has to change if feminists are to make any claims about acting for women's interests.

I love the disabled feminists site, was so sad when they announced its end.

We should stay in touch on this issue, see what we can do.incurable hippiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13064136978198714689noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6584420.post-54783440519559247322011-05-01T21:04:55.386+01:002011-05-01T21:04:55.386+01:00Hi there! The disabledfeminists.com site was really key in helping change the tone of internet debate. BUT that's the internet. My daily life experience is sort of like yours.... feminism is inaccessible. Letter writing, arguing, talking, engaging, sharing.... I've sometimes been successful, but often, sadly, not.

WCDWheelchair Dancerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11981313345401954118noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6584420.post-12018965093787378702011-05-01T15:14:06.152+01:002011-05-01T15:14:06.152+01:00Great post on an important issue.
