Pigeon Chicks.

Baby pigeons are really, really ugly.

And there are two on my balcony.

The eggs were small and white and perfect, and I was kinda hoping for cute little things. But no. REALLY ugly.

Ah well, you live and learn.

town pigeons (riddled with disease from all the leftover macdonalds) do have ugly chicks. we have them on our balcony and while i hate to do it, i try to make sure i tip their nest off before they lay eggs - have been too late three times - the first time i let them hatch and it will not happen again. the quantity of shit alone makes it look like an MRA's brain. i do still feel guilty, though... wouldn't want someone doing it to my babies. ust as there are incurable hippies, so there are incurable liberals.
witchy tipped me off to our common interest in this theme.
i look forward to reading more of both your musings and rants.

Hi sw,
Thanks for your comment. Glad it's not just me who's found herself in this predicament!
By the time I spotted the nest, there were already eggs. I called environmental health but then couldn't bring myself to get them to get rid...
So, tolerating this balcony invasion for now and, as you said, shit levels are already building up! Damn things.
As you can see from the next post's comments, it's just not socially acceptable to declare pigeon chicks to be ugly - we need to be assertive here!
Glad you came to visit :)

At least the birds seem to do what they're supposed to. We humans however, with our superiority, tend to hurt ourselves and the environment. We have the technology and know-how to improve matters, but I'm afraid we're making a mess of things. Such much for our use of our freedom of choice...
The birds can't help what they look like.
